CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Authorities have charged one woman and are seeking a second suspect wanted in connection with a shooting April 14 in north suburban Waukegan.

The shooting happened about 10:15 a.m. in the 0 to 100 block of Philippa Avenue, and left a person with a gunshot wound through the right hand, Waukegan said in a statement.

Not long after the shooting, police spotted and pulled over a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo allegedly involved in the incident, police said.

The driver, Shanese Richardson, 30, was arrested and charged with armed violence, three counts of aggravated use of a weapon and three unlawful possession charges for cannabis, heroin and cocaine, police said.

During the investigation, detectives from the Waukegan Police Department’s Gang Intelligence Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Tommie D. Harris, 26, of the 700 block of Broadway Avenue in North Chicago, police said.

The warrant carries at $250,000 bond and seeks Harris on various charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery, police said. He is not in police custody as of Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities recovered the weapon from the incident, but Harris should be considered armed and dangerous, police said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Richardson, of the 800 block of 14th Street in North Chicago, was released after posting bond and will next appear in court April 24, police said.

The person shot was treated and released from the hospital, police said.
