City inspector re-evaluating properties after FOX 32 investigation

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

City hall is responding to a FOX 32 News investigation of a big parking perk for some city workers.

We previously reported that dozens of cars parked for free inside an old building in the middle of River North.

Now, the city inspector general figured all that free parking adds up to a benefit of more than $45,000 a year. In River North, the property itself might be worth more than $1 million.

The inspector says the city should re-evaluate all of its properties -- and make sure they're getting the best value out of them.
