Metra BNSF trains moving again after delays

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Metra BNSF Line trains are running normally again after they were stopped temporarily in the West Loop.

Trains were halted between the Cicero and Western Avenue stations after a semi struck a bridge viaduct on Kedzie Avenue, according to Metra spokesman Meg Reile.

Trains were stopped as the agency waited for a track inspector to give the all clear, Reile said. The longest delay was 40 minutes.

Commuters should not expect residual delays, she said.
