RAW VIDEO: I-Team's undercover visit to Boggs Mountain

Posted: Updated:
CLAYTON, Ga. -                 Trial is set May 12 in Rabun County for a case uncovered by the Fox 5 I-Team that continues to trouble animal lovers across the country.

Lowanda "Peanut" Kilby faces 60 counts including theft by taking, theft by deception and racketeering. She once ran the well-regarded Boggs Mountain Humane Shelter in Rabun County, considered one of the top no-kill rescue operations in the Southeast.

Yet a hidden camera investigation revealed that the shelter secretly euthanized dogs that it guaranteed would be kept alive. These were often dogs put in the shelter's "Lucky Dog" program; for a $100 tax-deductible donation you could sponsor a dog to make sure it would be adopted and not put to sleep.

Prosecutors accuse Kilby of masterminding a scheme to secretly kill dogs, yet funnel the donations into her personal accounts. They say they plan to connect that money to her frequent trips to a local casino.

Kilby denies the allegations and has pled not guilty.

We've decided to post the entire undercover visit to Boggs Mountain Humane Shelter on July 10, 2012.

We meet with Peanut Kilby in the beginning and at the end of the video. In the middle we talked to volunteer Rosa Allen about the Lucky Dog program. Prosecutors say Ms. Allen was unaware of the scheme and could be called as a witness next month.
