Turtles Released Back Into Sea After Rehab

Posted: Updated:
Jacksonville, Fla.- It was a big day for a group of sea turtles in Florida.

31 turtles, who spent months undergoing rehab, were released back into the sea in Jacksonville, Florida.

And it happened to coincide with Earth Day celebrations.

The sea turtles were treated for hypothermia, and other ailments at the New England Aquarium Rescue Center.

Hypothermia set in after the turtles spent too much time in the frigid waters of Cape Cody Bay.

The area is tricky spot for turtles to navigate, but now they're back in warmer waters off Florida’s Talbot Island Park.
