Nation`s average airfare prices rising slowly; Chicago fares up 4%

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

It's getting more expensive to fly out of Chicago. From 2012 to 2013, fares rose about 4% at O'Hare and Midway.

Nationally, average fares rose just a fraction of a percent to $381. The average fare at O’Hare ended the year at $410, and Midway averaged $319, but is still among the lowest average of the largest 100 airports.

Nationally, the most expensive airport to fly out of is Huntsville, Alabama at $528. The cheapest is Long Beach, California at $249.
