Clayton County police arrested a former Clayton County Public Schools teacher early Tuesday morning on charges he had an inappropriate relationship with a student.

According to the Clayton County Sheriff's Department, 29-year-old Roderick Winslow Arrington is charged with Sexual Exploitation of Children, Sexual Assault Person in Custody /School and Weapon at School Functions or on School Property.

Arrington's arrest comes after an investigation into an inappropriate relationship between him and the female student.

According to CCPS, Arrington was terminated from the district on Monday. He was a science teacher at Charles Drew High School in Riverdale. He is also a student at The Interdenominational Theological Center, a school for ministers.

At a court appearance Tuesday morning, a Clayton County magistrate judge did not set bond for Arrington who indicated he would be hiring his own attorney.

The judge read the arrest warrant that alleges Arrington had a sexual encounter with a 17-year-old female student who also reportedly sent nude photographs of herself to him.

The warrant also alleges Arrington had a weapon on campus without a license.

Arrington is currently being held at the Clayton County Jail with no bond.
