Stolen vehicle pulled from Fox River

ELGIN, Ill. (FOX 32 News) - Emergency crews responded to the scene of a car partially submerged in the Fox River Tuesday morning.

Police officials tell FOX 32 News a passerby noticed the car in the water just off I-90 in Elgin around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday and called police. Divers entered the water and said no one was in the vehicle.

The car was out of the water by 9 a.m.

Police say the car has been identified as a stolen vehicle. The owner of the car was notified.

It is not yet clear how the car ended up in the water.
