Way of the Cross marks Good Friday in Chicago

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Good Friday is the most somber day of the year for Christians, when they mark the crucifixion and death of Jesus.

The traditional Way of the Cross procession took place downtown Friday and wrapped up at Holy Name Cathedral.

Friday marked the tenth Way of the Cross in Chicago. Several hundred Catholics carried a cross through the Loop Friday. They stopped to pray and sing along the way.

Organizers say they hope the event spurs a discussion about the relevance of Jesus' message to the struggles people have today.
