CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with shooting and robbing a man last month in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

The teen is charged as an adult with one felony count each of armed robbery with discharge of a firearm causing bodily harm, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with discharge of a firearm, a statement from Chicago Police said.

Police would not provide the boy's name because he is a juvenile.

About 5:30 p.m. March 1, the teen shot and robbed a 48-year-old man inside the man's home in the 9000 block of South Bishop Street, police said.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to the chest, arm and side, and was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. Police did not have an update on his condition Thursday morning.

The teen was arrested Monday and was to appear in bond court Tuesday, police said. The Cook County State's Attorney's office could not initially provide details of his court appearance.
