CTA moving forward with red line improvements

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

More improvements are coming to Chicago's transit system.

CTA announced it is moving forward with new expansion and renovation plans for one of Chicago's El lines.

Four red line stations on the north side are now in line to get a much needed makeover in 2017. The stops set for improvements are the Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn and Bryn Mawr stops. 

There is also a possible expansion on the table for the red line on the South Side.South Side residents say it is about time improvements are made on that side of town.

"Up north, they get everything. We need it more than they do," one CTA user told FOX 32's Anita Padilla.

More information on those improvement is expected to be announced Thursday.

The red line is the oldest and busiest line in Chicago.
