CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

One woman is dead after a pin-in crash that seriously injured four others Thursday night in the South Side West Pullman neighborhood.

The woman has been identified as 23-year-old Dalia Smith, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Smith was pronounced dead at 9:39 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the medical examiner's office said. Her home address was not immediately available.

The pin-in crash happened about 7:10 p.m. near the corner of 123rd and State streets, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Juan Hernandez said. Smith was with two adults and two children, whose ages and genders were not immediately known, during the crash.

A vehicle involved in the crash struck several other vehicles and damaged residential property before stopping, said police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan. Police are investigating the incident, Sullivan said.

The two adults were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, and the children were taken to University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. All were in serious-to-critical condition, Hernandez added.
