DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -
Four people were shot in a drive-by shooting at a club on Detroit's east side Friday night. The four victims, ranging in age from 15 to 20 years old, are all expected to be okay, according to Detroit Police.
Police tell us it started during a rap party at a club in the 12000 block of Gratiot. Officers were keeping a watchful eye on the party, when a suspicious car drove by. They followed the car to investigate. The car came to a sudden stop and the passenger jumped out and ran. As he was running, the suspect started firing shots at officers who also returned fire. No one was injured and the suspect was taken into custody.
Other officers left the scene of the party to assist with the chase. that's when fights began to break out between two rival gangs inside the club. During the fights a dark-colored vehicle driving very slowly down Gratiot opened fire on the people outside. Four young men from Detroit were hit. They were all taken to the hospital in temporary serious condition.
At least two people at the party returned fire at the drive-by car, which is described as either a dark-colored Buick Rendezvous or Pontiac Aztek.
