DETROIT (WJBK) -
Reports on various sports sites source a letter posted on a Twitter account about a letter that may have been sent to a teacher from a student.
True or not true -- it's a great letter written to get out of class and go to the Detroit Tigers Opening Day game. With Tigers' ace Justin Verlander on the mound the excuse gets an 'A' for effort if nothing else.
The letter reads as follows:
Please excuse my son Chris Steinert from school today, he has an appointment with Dr. Verlander. It follows by a forged signature of the high-schooler's dad.
Some tweets on a page that appears to handled by Steinert, he replies to media requests saying he did not go to the game today. Still a great letter for die-hard baseball fans. Advice to Steinert: Stay in school, there are many opening days to come. The beverages and dogs will taste sweeter when you can buy them with the money you earn from the well-paying job you earned because you received and education and stayed in school.
ALL RIGHT FOR THE REST OF YOU, WHAT WAS YOUR EXCUSE IF YOU PLAYED HOOKEY TODAY? Add your comments below. We won't tell.
