DETROIT (WJBK) - The alleged stealing spree of a man passing as a heating and cooling expert was caught on surveillance video at one of Detroit's most high-tech businesses.

For security reasons, the business has asked Fox 2 not to reveal its name or location, but they shared video of the suspect in action. Employees hope someone recognizes him and turns him in to police.

An employee tells FOX 2's Robin Schwartz when the man arrived at the business they were a little caught off guard by his appearance. They say he was sweating profusely and was missing teeth.

But, the building was experiencing heating problems, and the man showed a badge and was wearing a uniform. He even walked around the office taking notes and appeared to be taking temperature readings.

Meanwhile, he was also scanning the room looking for items to steal.

The suspect, seen on surveillance video, appears to grab a camera on a desk, and can be seen using a chair to hide a laptop he's carting away. He apparently even pushed a cleaning cart full of loot right out the door.

Employees eventually caught on and called police, but the man got away. Employees believe he was armed.

They're convinced this guy has done this before and he could be targeting another businesses.

If you recognize the man in the surveillance video and photos, contact the Detroit Police Department. The business is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
