CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A person was seriously injured after falling on Blue Line tracks Thursday morning.

The person fell on the racks at the California stop about 7:30 a.m., said CTA spokeswoman Lambrini Lukidis.

That person was removed shortly after and taken in serious-to-critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Fire Media Affairs said.

Power was initially shut off in both directions from the California stop to the Division station, but it was being restored by 8 a.m., according to the CTA.
