Person hurt in Northfield shooting, Chief Keef allegedly involved

NORTHFIELD, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A person is hospitalized in intensive care after being shot Wednesday morning in north suburban Northfield.

The shooting happened in the early morning hours in the 800 block of North Happ Road, according to Northfield police.

The victim was taken to North Shore Skokie Hospital in Skokie and was listed in "stable" condition Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Few details were released about the incident, but police said it appears to be an isolated incident and "we believe the community is safe."

Police advise residents that access to the area will be limited through Friday for the investigation.

Northfield police and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force are investigating along with the Cook County State's Attorney's office.
