Detroit homeowner fatally shoots 2 suspected intruders

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -- Detroit police say a homeowner has fatally shot two suspected home intruders on the city's west side.

The shooting happened around Tuesday morning on the 14000 block of Dexter, just south of the Lodge Freeway and east of Livernois.

Police say the victims are two males.

"People aren't just going to stand pat while you victimize them," said Barak Holmes, who lives nearby and heard the gunshots.

Police took the homeowner, who has a valid concealed pistol license, to a local precinct for questioning. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office will determine if the homeowner will face charges.

Neighbors say the same home was broken into twice on Friday.

The incident remains under investigation.
