CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A Chicago City Council committee plans to hear testimony about suspending Chicago's sister city relationship with Moscow.

On Tuesday, the Committee on Human Relations will listen to testimony on a resolution that asks the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events to suspend Chicago's sister city agreement with the City of Moscow until Russia withdraws its troops from the Crimean peninsula.

City officials say Andriy Pravednyk, consul general of the Ukraine in Chicago, is to testify along with Pavlo Bandriwski, a representative of the Illinois division of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America.

Russia placing of military in Ukraine's Crimea region represents a challenged to the pro-European government in Kiev.

Four Chicago aldermen are sponsoring the resolution including Ald. Edward M. Burke (14th district), Proco Joe Moreno (1st), Roberto Maldonado (26th) and Ariel E. Reboyras (30th).
