Mariano`s location in Aurora to begin hiring soon

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

As part of the grocery store's reopening under the Mariano's brand, owners of a former Dominick's location on East New York Street plan to start hiring soon, the Beacon News is reporting.

Jess Terry, Chief Human Resources Officer at Roundy's, said the company plans to hire 300 to 350 employees ahead of the opening of Mariano's at 3025 E. New York St. in Aurora. Milwaukee-based Roundy's is the parent company to Mariano's.

According to a Facebook post, the company plans to start hiring for the Aurora location in April. Terry said the company is looking for applicants with all types of experience, not just at grocery stores.

The company has not yet released the opening date for the Aurora store. Terry said Saturday that Aurora customers can expect a Mariano's shopping experience "unlike anywhere else — including a wealth of healthy products at reasonable prices and outstanding customer service."

The Aurora Dominick's store was one of 11 stores Dominick's stores Roundy's acquired from Safeway Inc., Dominick's parent company, in December 2013. Under the deal, Roundy's paid $36 million cash and assumed the leases for the stores.

"With 29 Mariano's locations spread throughout the Chicago metropolitan area at the end of 2014, Mariano's will have created over 10,000 jobs in the Chicagoland market in four short years," Terry said.
