CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The body of a man was found in water Saturday morning in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the 1400 block of South Sacramento Avenue about 11:10 a.m. for a report of a person in the water, Fire Media Affairs chief Larry Langford said.

About five minutes later, crews found the dead body of a man and turned the scene over to police, Langford said.

The man remains unidentified early Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. An autopsy Sunday was inconclusive pending toxicology results and the police investigation.

Police did not know the man's exact age, only saying he was an adult. Maps show the block is part of a park called Douglas Park, which has a body of water in the middle.

Police said Area Central detectives are conducting a death investigation.
