Girl, 14, sexually assaulted in South Deering

Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl Wednesday night in the South Side South Deering neighborhood.

About 8:36 p.m., the man approached the girl in the 2300 block of East 102nd Street, displayed a handgun and forced her into the rear yard of an abandoned home, where he sexually assaulted her, an alert from Area South detectives said.

The suspect is described as a black man 20 to 30, 5-foot-9 to 6 feet and 180-200 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair, a dark complexion, mustache and goatee, and severe acne on his face. He was wearing a black jacket, grey sweatpants and a red and white knit Chicago Bulls hat.
