CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are searching for a man who tried to lure a teenage girl into his car Tuesday afternoon in the Northwest Side Belmont Cragin neighborhood.

The 15-year-old girl was walking in the 5200 block of West Grand Avenue about 4:15 p.m. when a man demanded three times that she get into his car, Area North detectives said in an alert.

The girl ran away, and saw the man drive south on Cicero Avenue, the alert said. The girl got aboard a CTA bus and arrived home safely.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black man about 30 to 40, between 5-foot-9 and 6-feet, and 200-250 pounds, the alert said. He had a dark complexion with a mustache, and was wearing a black, long-sleeved shirt, and blue jeans.

He was driving a silver four-door car, possibly an older model Chevrolet Impala with a "bubble-style" top, the alert said.

Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 744-8200.
