Woman's Finger Nearly Bitten Off In Mall Parking Lot Fight

Posted: Updated:

New Jersey police say a bizarre incident at the Cherry Hill Mall left a woman with part of her finger nearly bitten off.

Now, police say they need your help identifying the woman whose image was caught on surveillance cameras after the violent parking lot dispute.

Officers responded at 4:43 p.m. Saturday to the Nordstrom's parking lot for what began as a parking spot argument but escalated into a physical altercation.

The victim, a 42-year-old from Philadelphia, said she was confronted by two women. She was transported to Cooper Hospital in stable condition after "a portion of her finger was severely bitten severed."

Police described the suspect shown in a surveillance photo as a black woman in her mid-30s with a heavy-set build, "bushy" hair and possibly driving a dark-colored, older-model Audi sedan.

Police only said that the second woman was also black; no photo or further description of her was released.

And after scratching the victim's face and nearly biting off her finger, the amazing part is the suspect in the photo still went shopping afterward, FOX 29's Steve Keeley reported.

Anyone who witnessed the dispute or knows the identity of the woman in the photo is urged to call the Cherry Hill Police Department at (856) 488-7828.

Keeley was live Monday morning in Cherry Hill with more details in this video report.
