Let it Rip Weekend: Mayoral race and EM's 'dumb & lazy' comment

We take on the race for Detroit Mayor and the controversial comments by Detroit's EM calling Detroiters "dumb, lazy, happy and rich."
A new poll shows Mike Duggan leading in the race for Detroit Mayor. Could those dirty tricks against him actually be paying off in his favor? Duggan supporter and community activist Malik Shabazz thinks

Right now, it's perfectly legal for anyone, including minors, to buy e-cigarettes and smoke them indoors without paying taxes that apply to tobacco products.  A new bill in Lansing wants to change all of that.  Charles Elias who runs Vaporcraft in Clawson, thinks the proposed legislation goes too far.  He says the industry already self-regulates when it comes to minors.  He's fine with that part of the bill, but treating it like a tobacco product would make it subject to the state's smoking ban.  He says it's not tobacco.  In fact, e-cigarettes help people stop smoking.  But State Rep. Henry Yanez (D-Sterling Heights) thinks e-cigarettes need better regulation because they contain the highly addictive drug nicotine.

Also, petroleum coke wants to make a comeback in Metro Detroit. This time, Detroit Bulk Storage wants to move the massive piles Down river.  Fireworks erupted at a meeting this week in Wyandotte when residents found out about it.  So is pet coke really the big, scary boogeyman that environmentalists would have you believe?  Detroit News columnist Henry Payne and Nick Schroeck from the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center debate it.
