CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A fire was reported at a Far South Side steel plant early Friday.

Shortly before 5 a.m., fire and HAZMAT crews responded to the fire in the 400 block of West 127th Street, according to Fire Media Affairs.

It was determined that the fire started in an oil container and "self vented through the roof," according to fire media.

Firefighters had the blaze under control by about 5:15 a.m. and used water and foam to secure the fire, fire media said.

No one was injured and crews were still at the scene as of 5:45 a.m.
