Second floor fire in West Pullman displaces 6

Firefighters responded to a second floor blaze Saturday afternoon in the West Pullman neighborhood on the South Side.

The fire started about 1:30 p.m. in the 12000 block of South Eggleston Avenue and was struck out about 2 p.m., Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight said.

While no one was hurt, six people were displaced as a result of the fire, Knight added. The city's Department of Human Services was called to assist them, Fire Media Affairs said.

The cause of the fire was not yet immediately known Saturday afternoon.
