NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Philip Seymour Hoffman died of a massive overdose of several drugs, according to New York City's medical examiner.

Hoffman died from "[a]cute mixed drug intoxication, including heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines, amphetamine," according to a statement from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner release Friday afternoon.

Benzodiazepines are sedatives sometimes used to treat anxiety. Amphetamine is a stimulant often used to treat ADHD.

The M.E. has ruled his death an accident.
