CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man was arrested Monday after police allegedly found a cache of weapons he was storing in a North Lawndale home.

Jason E. Juarez, 24, of the 8800 block of South May Street, is charged with six counts of felony unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, police News Affairs said in a release.

Area Central Gun Team officers learned through their investigative sources that he had accumulated a large number of weapons and was storing them at the home in the 1800 block of South Hamlin Avenue, the release said.

Police received permission to search the home Feb. 3 and found two assault rifles, three semi-automatic handguns and a store of ammunition, the release said.

Juarez was not at the home at the time, and was picked up on a warrant Monday about 9:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of South State Street, the release said.

Juarez will appear for a bond hearing Tuesday, police said.
