Michigan is the 4th highest state for parents not getting their kids vaccinated.  Writer Susan J. Demas says it's no coincidence that we've also seen a resurgence of diseases that were either eradicated or severely diminished in the past 50 years.  She recently wrote an opinion piece in MLive calling on Lansing lawmakers to make it tougher for kids to opt out of their shots because of philosophical or personal reasons.  Mary Tocco, an author and radio host says that would be a horrible idea.  She's been sounding the alarm on childhood vaccines for over 30 years, claiming they're dangerous.

Also, is Kevyn Orr's plan of adjustment in the Detroit Bankruptcy really such a bad deal?  Some retirees could get as much as 96% of their pensions.  Brenda Goss Andrews doesn't think so.  She's the President of the Retired Detroit Police Members Association.  Joining her in condemnation is Ryan Pletcha, the attorney for the retirees committee.  But noted bankruptcy attorney Kelly Nigohsian says although mediation needs to play out, what's been put forward isn't exactly the most terrible fate Detroit could suffer.
