CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Three Chicago men are accused of leading police in a stolen car on a chase that started in Calumet City ended in a crash on the Bishop Ford Freeway on Friday.

Javier Aguilera and Johnathan Arevalo, both 21, and 19-year-old Joshua Harris-White have been charged with the chase that briefly shut down most lanes of the Bishop Ford Freeway (I-94), according to a statement from Calumet City police.

Officers started following the car about 2:30 p.m., after the owner spotted it in Calumet City, Assistant Calumet City Police Chief Tom DiFiori said.

The car had previously been reported stolen in Chicago, he said.

Police pursued the vehicle through Dolton and Riverdale and onto the Bishop Ford. The driver of the stolen car hit at least two other vehicles during the chase before it crashed into two Calumet City squad cars near 115th Street, police said.

Three people in the car were arrested, and police are still searching for a fourth passenger who ran away, according to the statement.

No one was hurt in the chase, DiFiori said.

Aguilera, of the 9000 block of South Commercial Avenue, is charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle as well as three counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding police, two counts of criminal damage to government property and two counts of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. He also faces 11 additional traffic citations, according to the statement.

Arevalo, of the 8000 block of South Exchange Avenue, and Harris-White, of the 3000 block of East 80th Street, each face one count of criminal trespass to a vehicle.

Aguilera was ordered held on $250,000 bond, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. He is next scheduled to appear in court in Markham on Tuesday.

Bond and court information was not immediately available for Arevalo or Harris-White.
