HAZEL CREST, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Three teenage boys suffered non-life-threatening wounds when they were shot Sunday night in south suburban Hazel Crest across the street from the Markham Roller Rink, Hazel Crest Police Chief Thomas Folliard told the Southtown Star.

A group of five teens left a house in the 2100 block of 167th Street about 8 p.m. and were walking east on Dixie Highway when they got into an argument with three young men who had come out of a liquor store parking lot, Folliard said.

He said the two groups crossed the street in the 16600 block of Dixie Highway, and someone in the group of three pulled a gun and started shooting, wounding three teens in the other group in their "lower extremities."

Folliard said the victims were unable to provide descriptions of their assailants.

One of the injured teens was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, and two were taken to Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, the chief said.

He said the shootings were not related to a dance party that was being held at the rink at the time.
