Woman killed after crashing into snow bank in Oak Lawn

OAK LAWN, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A woman died Sunday evening after her vehicle crashed into a snow bank in southwest suburban Oak Lawn.

Sonja Edgerton, 49, of the 1700 block of West 95th Street, crashed her vehicle into a snow bank in the 4600 block of West 95th Street in Oak Lawn, authorities said.

She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn -- less than half mile east of the crash -- where she was pronounced dead at 6:52 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Oak Lawn police said the crash happened about a week and a half ago, but could not provide further details Monday.
