CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man died Tuesday, more than a week after he jumped out of a window during a fire at a Near West Side hotel.

Roy Harmon, 53, died at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

On Feb. 3, Harmon jumped out of a window during a fire at the hotel where he lived at 1810 W. Jackson Blvd., according to Fire Media Affairs and the medical examiner's office.

The cause of the fire at the Royalton Hotel, a four-story, single-occupancy hotel, was under investigation as of last week, according to Fire Media.

An autopsy Friday found Harmon died of multiple injuries from the fire and ruled his death an accident, the medical examiner's office said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
