Victim found in burning Detroit house shot to death

DETROIT (WJBK) -

An autopsy initially determined a man found in a burning Detroit house was stabbed to death, but upon a follow-up inspection the Medical Examiner's Officer says the man actually died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The man has been identified as Lawrence Bowman, 51.

Two other people in addition to Bowman were found inside the burning home on Bentler Street Monday afternoon.

One of the victims was found dead at the scene. He has been identified as Michael Hoots, 24, and died from multiple stab wounds.

The third victim found at the home was alive when firefighters arrived. He was taken to the hospital and later died as a result of multiple stab wounds. He has been identified as Nicholas Bowman, 26, and is the son of Lawrence.
