Car on tracks delays South Shore Line train

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A train in northern Indiana headed for Chicago was delayed Monday morning when a car was found on the tracks.

The car was reported blocking the tracks at the South Bend station in Indiana about 8:20 a.m., according to the Northern Indiana Commuter District. South Shore Line Train No. 14, scheduled to arrive at the Millennium Station in Chicago at 10:28 a.m., was about 45 minutes delayed at 8:50 a.m., according to the website.

No one was injured or reported found inside of the vehicle, South Bend police said.

A tow truck was about to arrive at the tracks around 8:50 a.m. to remove the vehicle, police said.
