Armed robberies in Grand Boulevard, Washington Park: Alert

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Police are warning South Side residents of two related armed robberies that occurred a week apart in January in the Grand Boulevard and Washington Park neighborhoods.

During both robberies, two males approached victims, showed a gun and demanded property, an alert from Chicago Police said.

The first robbery happened Jan. 14 about 2:20 p.m. in the 4900 block of South Wabash Avenue, police said.

The second occurred on Jan. 23 in the 5100 block of South Wabash about 10:10 p.m., police said.

The 16- to 19-year-old suspects are described as 130- to 160- pound, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-11 black males, the alert said.
