Man dies after found unresponsive at Cook County courthouse

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man who was found unresponsive outside the Leighton Criminal Courts building died Tuesday afternoon.

William Martinez, 61, was found unresponsive in the lobby of the building at 2650 S. California Ave. and taken to St. Anthony Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:55 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Martinez is believed to have been homeless, according to the medical examiner's office.

A spokesman for the courthouse could not immediately be reached for comment.
