AURORA, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A woman who fought with her ex-boyfriend over accusations of cheating is suspected of lighting his van on fire in west suburban Aurora Tuesday.

Emergency crews responded about 5 p.m. to the 1200 block of North Lake Street and found the man standing near his van, which was fully engulfed in flames, Aurora police said in a release.

Investigators learned the man and his ex-girlfriend had been in the van, and had an argument over alleged infidelity that led to a fight, police said.

When he walked away from the vehicle, the woman still inside doused it with a flammable liquid and lit it on fire, police claim.

Batavia police arrested her after she drove off in another vehicle, and a good Samaritan followed her, Aurora police said.

She suffered non-life-threatening burns and was treated at a nearby hospital, police said. Charges are pending against the woman, a former Rochelle, Ill. resident.
