Police warn of West Town home burglaries

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are warning West Town residents of a string of daytime home burglaries over the last two weeks.

At least one burglar enters a home through a bedroom window that has been left unsecured, according to the community alert from Area Central detectives.

The burglaries happened:

-in the 1600 block of West Huron Street on Jan. 17;

-in the 1700 block of West Huron Street on Jan. 19;

-in the 1600 block of West Huron Street on Jan. 20;

-in the 1600 block of West Superior Street on Jan. 22;

-in the 1400 block of West Huron Street on Jan. 25.

Police advise residents to immediately repair broken windows and doors and to report suspicious activity immediately.
