Mother of child on a 12 year old's 'Kill List' wants answers

"I was shocked. Honestly as soon as he said it I didn't know what to say."

This mother, who doesn't want her face shown, is talking about the day she got a phone call from the principal from McKay Arts Academy in Fitchburg over Christmas break on December 19th. The principal told her the school confiscated a notebook from a student.

In it was a list of names and at the top it said kill list.

Her 12 year old daughter name was on it.

"I wanted to know what was going on. How many kids were on the list? Was it a boy or girl that made the list. He [the principal] wasn't able to answer any of my questions," the mother said.

Shocked and scared she did some investigating and found out that the list was confiscated by a teacher a week before any parents on the list was notified.

The school won't tell her how many names where on it. Only that it was less than 20.  The mother knows of 6 names so far. She says the kill list was also written by a 12 year old girl.

"When asked why my child was on the list, the child that made the list said because she ‘annoyed me one day," says the mother.

Now this mother is outraged over how the school is handling her daughter and the other victims on the list.

She claims no one from the school has reached out to make sure they are doing ok.

"The victims on this list are not being addressed appropriately. They are not a top priority. They haven't asked them ‘how do you feel' about being on a list where another student- child -and I say child because they are 12, wants to kill you," the mother explains.

A letter was sent home to families stating the school is handling the situation but she says that is not enough.

"I feel for the child that made the list. I want to make sure that child is taken care of getting on the help and resources she needs. The victims on the list have not been provided any services. The letter that was sent home said they provided support services. No one talked to my child until this past Friday" says the concerned mother.
