CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 21-year-old man accused of attacking his girlfriend, slamming his baby girl's head on the floor and biting police officers who arrived to the domestic dispute Sunday is being held on a $750,000 bond.

Julian Alequin, 21, was charged Tuesday with aggravated domestic battery of a child under 13, a felony, for the 10:40 p.m. incident in the 2800 block of North Spaulding Avenue, a statement from police said.

He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of domestic battery causing bodily harm, assaulting an officer (two counts) and resisting or obstructing an officer (three counts), police said.

Aleguin was arguing with his girlfriend when the dispute turned physical and he said, "We're all going to die," police claim. He allegedly picked up his 1-year-old daughter and threw her to the ground after slamming her head twice on the floor.

Police attempted to detain him, but he "became combative" and bit both officers, Shakespeare District Sgt. Gerald Bremon said.

The infant suffered two skull fractures and was taken to Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago in critical condition, Bremon said.

The state Department of Children and Family Services is investigating allegations of abuse and neglect against the girl's father, spokeswoman Karen Hawkins said. Two of the girl's siblings are now in the care of relatives.

Alequin was taken to a hospital with a self-inflicted wound, but was later released into police custody, police said. The woman refused medical treatment.

He was ordered held on a $750,000 bond Wednesday and will next appear in court Jan. 21, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's office.
