Authorities investigate NW Atlanta shooting

ATLANTA, Ga. -

Authorities are investigating an early morning shooting in NW Atlanta.

According to crews on the scene, the incident happened on Spencer Street near Joseph E. Lowrey around 2 a.m. Monday morning

Authorities say the victim, a male in his mid-40's, was wounded after residents from a neighboring home shot him; apparently, the man was rummaging through their trash at the time of the shooting.

SWAT units were called to the scene because residents resfused to answer the door for police. After a brief standoff, authorities took three people into custody; only two were actual residents of the home.

Atlanta Police are wokring to secure additional warrants. The victim was transported to a local medical center in stable condition.

No further information was immediately released.
