Man shot while urinating in Chicago Lawn gangway

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man was shot while he was urinating in a gangway early Saturday in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the South Side.

The 20-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the groin area about 3:20 a.m. in the 6400 block of South Homan Avenue, police said.

He was in a vehicle with friends when he exited to urinate in a gangway, police said. While he was urinating, he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives are investigating.
