Snow flurries Monday, white Christmas ahead

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Light snow flurries are expected to fall throughout the Chicago area Monday, and forecasters are predicting a white Christmas.

"We are expected to have well below zero wind chill values," said meteorologist Stephen Rodriguez. "The wind chill values for the actual city, I would say, would be five to 15 below by this evening."

Rodriguez added the snowfall should not affect driving conditions.

There is a silver lining, however. The best chance for snow accumulation this week will be Tuesday night into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

"It is looking very possible that we'll be having a white Christmas," Rodriguez said. "We should have snow throughout Christmas Eve and into Christmas Day."
