This soldier is on a mission as soon as he gets home.

"I haven't been here since December 12, 2012, so, this my first time in the United States since 2012."

As we share the long walk down the hall way of the Children's Center Head Start Academy in Detroit, his mind is focused.

His mother says, "Thank God, I'm glad he's home."

His wife helped to create this moment for the most important girl in his life. "This is what she deserved and what I've always been wanting for the past year," says Cecilia Benjamin.

But the long trip from the base in Korea, to the states, from the airport, to this hallway - all leads to one little girl that has no idea that daddy is home.

There were tears. There were cheers. But Sgt. Sedale Benjamin's 4-year-old daughter - there was just dad.

"She kind of been practicing. Her mom asked her, 'Well, what would you do if your daddy came home? How would you act?' She says, 'I would run around, run around, and jump in his arms.' So, you see she's crying - it's the opposite. So, we are very glad to have him home, " says mother-in-law Cecilia Jones. "

"Very emotional. Very emotional. When she sees the airplanes she says 'Come back, daddy, come back, come back!' because she saw him leave on the airplane, and she see every airplane in the sky and she wants him to come back down out of the air. It's been an emotional trip ever since he's been gone," says Sedale's mother Ramona Benjamin.

Lee Thomas asks, "So what's the list of what you want to do in the 30 days that you have?"

"Go to Campus Martius, to the movies, get something to eat - whatever she want to do. This is the boss right now," Sgt. Benjamin says smiling.

So Sergeant - enjoy your 30 days of leave and thank you for your service.

And by the way, Nevaeh never did let go ...
