CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A South Shore Line train was temporarily delayed Wednesday morning on the Far South Side because of a suspicious package.

The westbound train no. 14 was stopped at the Metra Kensington Station near 115th Street and South Front Drive due to a "suspicious package," said Northern Indiana Commuter District spokesman John Parsons.

"They held our trains for about 20 minutes," Parsons said. "It was a suspicious package and it turned out to be benign."

The incident was reported around 10:08 a.m. Wednesday, Parsons said. There were no other related delays. It is also unknown what was inside the package, Parsons said.
