CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are warning the West Lawn neighborhood of a man who committed at least three robberies within an hour of each other Monday evening.

The robberies happened about 5 p.m. in the 3700 block of West 60th Place, about 5:15 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Hamlin Avenue, and about 5:40 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Hamlin Avenue, according to the alert issued Tuesday by Area Central detectives.

Police said the robber approached the victims, either pulled out a handgun or implied he had one and demanded property.

The suspect is described as a 20 to 26-year-old black man, between 6-foot and 6-foot-2 and 110-170 pounds, the alert said.

Anyone with information about the robberies should contact detectives at (312) 747-8380.
