FOX Furry Friend of the Week: Mia, Homer, 36-hour Holiday Adopt-a-Thon

Posted: Updated:

FOX 32 News has teamed up with no-kill shelter PAWS Chicago to bring you an adoptable pet each week. This week, we're featuring Mia and Homer.

One-year old Homer was found living outside as a stray. He's well-socialized and one of the friendliest cats you'll ever meet.

Mia is an adorable seven-year-old Yorkshire Terrier mix. She was given to PAWS when her previous guardian fell on hard times and could no longer afford her care. Mia is great with other dogs and likes kids too.

PAWS Chicago is hosting a 36-hour Holiday Adopt-a-Thon this weekend. The goal is to find homes for nearly 200 homeless puppies, kittens, cats and dogs.

The adoption marathon starts Friday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. and runs through Saturday, Dec. 7 at 11 p.m.

You can meet other animals looking for homes at PAWS Chicago Adoption & Humane Center in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
