PAXTON, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A central Illinois man won a $1 million Powerball prize last week, after purchasing an online subscription to the drawing on the lottery's website.

The winner bought the Quick Pick ticket, and matched the first five winning numbers -- 05 - 12 - 43 - 52 - 55 – (10) -- on Nov. 23, via a three-month Powerball subscription he purchased in October on the lottery's website, according to a release from the Illinois Lottery.

The unidentified resident of Paxton, which is located about 30 miles north of Champaign, is Illinois' second $1 million Powerball prize winner to have bought their ticket online, the release said.

The Illinois Lottery became the first lottery in the country to sell tickets online in March 2012, according to the release. The other $1 million Powerball ticket sold via www.myillinoislottery.com was won in December, 2012, by a west suburban Brookfield man.

Powerball drawings take place Wednesday and Saturday nights at 9:59 p.m., the release said.
